Intimate Partner Violence has a global presence across all genders, ethnicities, socioeconomic classes, and relationship types. It affects surgeons and their friends, family members, and patients. Surgeons, physicians, and healthcare professionals have the potential to change the course of an individual鈥檚 life by effectively identifying people who have sustained IPV and referring them to the appropriate resources.
