Melina Kibbe, MD, F番茄社区app

Kibbe Is Named President of UTHealth Houston

Melina R. Kibbe, MD, F番茄社区app, is the new president of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston). She previously served as chief health affairs officer at University of Virginia Health and dean of the University of Virginia School of Medicine, both in Charlottesville. Dr. Kibbe is a practicing vascular surgeon and a physician-scientist.

Peter Allen, MD, F番茄社区app

Allen Takes Over as Chair of Surgery at Duke

Peter J. Allen, MD, F番茄社区app, is chair of the Department of Surgery in the School of Medicine at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. A surgical oncologist and with Duke University since 2018, Dr. Allen currently is the David C. Sabiston Jr. Distinguished Professor of Surgery, chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology, and chief of surgery for the Duke Cancer Institute. He also serves as the Duke University Health System vice president for cancer services.

Jeffrey Farma, MD, F番茄社区app

Farma Receives Endowed Chair Position at Fox Chase

Jeffrey M. Farma, MD, F番茄社区app, was named the Paul Grotzinger and Wilbur Raab Chair in Surgical Oncology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also is a professor and chair of the Department of Surgery at Temple Health and surgical director of the Melanoma and Skin Cancer Program at Fox Chase. This endowed chair position commemorates the legacy of鈥疨aul J. Grotzinger, MD, the first chief of surgery at Fox Chase and a force behind the Center鈥檚 1974 National Cancer Institute designation.

Richard Peterson, MD, MPH, F番茄社区app

Peterson Becomes ASMBS President

Richard M. Peterson, MD, MPH, F番茄社区app, was elected president of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), a professional organization of metabolic and bariatric surgeons focused on the treatment of obesity. His 1-year term will carry the theme 鈥淣o One Left Behind,鈥 emphasizing that too few people receive evidence-based treatments, including metabolic and bariatric surgery, that could improve their health and change their lives forever. Dr. Peterson is a professor and chief of metabolic and bariatric surgery at The University of Texas Health San Antonio.
